Glasgow Catherdral #3

Some rooms make you lower your voice before you've decided to. Glasgow Cathedral is one of them. The stone is cold enough to feel through your coat. The roof goes up into a darkness you can't measure. And a single window holds the light the way a cupped hand holds water.

I painted it because of what it does to a person's breathing.

You know this feeling already - you've built it into your mornings on purpose. This is the same thing, made permanent and hung on a wall. Something to look at on the days your practice gets away from you.

Not decoration. A place to put your attention when you need somewhere to put it.

That's the part I painted for.
