Basilica of St. Nicholas, Amsterdam

Afternoon on the water in Waterford, Ireland. Salt air and a boat that wasn't glamorous — rust down the hull, paint gone matte, a working boat tied up for the night with nowhere left to be.

I painted it for the color where rust turns in flat Irish light. I named it for a song already running through my head that connected the boat to the famous factory just behind me.

Imagine this near a window at dusk, catching the last of the light the same way the boat did.
