Koi Pond Resurrected

The air inside Kibble Palace holds heat like a held breath. Glass overhead, green pressing in from every side, and near the entry, water moving in a perfect circle.

The koi never finish their circuit. Orange and white bodies passing each other — closer, apart, closer again — color in motion instead of color at rest.

I painted it for that circling, the part of the pond that never resolves.

Imagine this hanging somewhere you pass without deciding to look, and looking anyway, every time.

Some things don't ask you to hold still. They ask you to notice while everything keeps moving.
