The Mask Project

I recently painted a mask for The Mask Project (pictured here) which benefits The Denver Hospice. I must admit, I didn't know a great deal about the Mask Project, prior to my invitation to participate in this year's event. After learning more about The Denver Hospice, however, I was moved to contribute to the cause.

When we are born into this world, there will inevitably come a time for all of us to leave it. I distinctly remember one evening in particular when I was about ten years old and I made this realization. There was nothing I could do about it and it scared me to no end; nobody could save me from the end of the natural course of this life. Since then, I have come to terms with my own mortality and so it is a great comfort to me to know that there are organizations out there such as The Hospice that can make the transition an easier one for some of us. Please take the time to visit The Denver Hospice and Mask Project websites.
